Courier Corporation again relies on LITHOMAN x 4
A fourth web press fuels the increased capacity needs for Courier Corporation

After two solid quarters of growth, Courier Corporation approved the investment in a fourth manroland LITHOMAN web press for its Kendallville, Indiana plant.

Like the three LITHOMAN presses already in production , the fourth press will have 4 printing units on a single 57.5 inch web. The press will be equipped for extremely fast makereadies with semi-automatic plate changers and the manroland Quickstart® package. Complementng the high speed press is a faster PFI 5/S-MT AC drive folder designed for a 2:5:5 configuration with two quarter folders. The double round cylinders perform at a maximum speed of 45,000 impressions per hour (90,000 signatures per hour.)

The PECOM control system will be fully integrated into the workflow through two workstations. The TelePresence system will provide remote diagnostics and around the clock support. The TeleConsult system offers a quarterly press performance report to analyze and to help continuously improve production efficiencies.

A dedicated manroland project team will manage the press project from installation to start-up along with specialized training on maintenance and new upgraded features.
