On October 28th, Johann Conrad Dietrich and Paul Hermann Dietrich found J.C. & H. Dietrich, Vogtländische Stickmaschinenfabrik in Plauen.

1896
Originally a factory for embroidery machines, the firm expands its production portfolio to include printing presses.

1920
New miniature webfed offset press caters for the needs of small printing houses.

1947
Plamag makes the calendar-block rotary press - the first press to be built following the end of WW II.

1959
Inauguration of a research and development department.

1967
With the introduction of the Hyperset series, Plamag completes the transition from letterpress to offset printing.

1968
For the first time, the total edition of the Neues Deutschland newspaper is printed on a single Hyperset offset rotary press - a staggering 900,000 daily.

1972
Development of the first modular printing press. The Rondoset offset machine is predestined for multi-colour printing of newspapers and magazines.

1980
Largest webfed offset press in Eastern Europe is delivered to Szikra Lapnyomda, the Hungarian publishing house.

1988
Double-width Noraset presses set a new benchmark with 40,000 cylinder revolutions in a six-cylinder system.

1990
MAN Roland bought the Plauener Maschinenfabrik Plamag and it was renamed MAN Plamag Druckmaschinen AG.

1992
8-page UNISET series is presented as the outcome of the first joint project.

1998
Introduction of the four-plate-wide REGIOMAN 4-1 newspaper press.

2005
Strengthening of service competencies: active marketing of PRINTVALUE with printcom, printnet and printservices.

2006
MAN Roland becomes independent.

2007
Robots enter the printing industry with APL™.
