Bio
Vince Lapinski is Chief Executive Officer of manroland Inc, the North American division of manroland Druckmaschinen AG, with headquarters in Chicago.
The holder of a bachelor's degree from RIT in Printing Technology, Lapinski began his career in the newspaper industry over 20 years ago on the consumables side of the business, specializing in press blankets and printing plate systems. Over the course of a decade, he held technical sales and product management positions first with W. R. Grace & Company and then with NAPP Systems Inc., a subsidiary of MacDermid Graphic Arts.
Lapinski joined manroland in 1990, working in newspaper web product management. As a result of his accomplishments, he was given the opportunity to run the company's Newspaper Sales Group after only two years with the company. In the mid 90s, Lapinski was part of the management team that reorganized the division, consolidating service and training facilities, and reallocating manufacturing resources to better support the company's customers. manroland's share of the double width newspaper market in North America grew during his tenure from less than 15 percent to more than 50 percent. In addition, significant inroads in the single-width market were made.
In 2001, Lapinski was placed in charge of all web press operations at manroland, Inc., as COO he took on the commercial side of the business as well as newspaper. He subsequently streamlined and revitalized the Commercial Web Division. As COO of the Web Operations, he ran a division that included a staff of over 100, generating $150-200 million in annual sales. All web press operations in North America were under his purview, including project management, application engineering, parts, service, training, sales and marketing.

Bio
Chris Howes, a 23-year manroland veteran, is the Assistant Vice President of Sales Administration at manroland Inc.
The holder of an MBA in Finance and Information Systems, Howes got his start in the graphic arts by working as a press assistant and a bindery-man for a printer during high school. He also worked in the newspaper pressroom while completing his college degree.
He started at manroland in November 1980 in the company's Credit and Collections Department. He next moved to Sales Administration, and then to Sales and Contract Administration. Howes also worked in Marketing for several years, and was Used Equipment Manager for two years before taking another role back in the manroland Sales Administration department.

Bio
Roland joined Sears (part of the Miller Company in Canada) as a salesman in 1984. Over the past twenty four years, Ortbach has held several critical roles with manroland in sheetfed, commercial web, and newspaper business segments, including specialized roles as Product Manager, Regional Sales Manager and the Managing Director leading the Sheetfed Sales business in Canada. For the past several years, Ortbach has served as the Director and subsequently the Vice President of Corporate Accounts for the commercial web business. Ortbach has enjoyed remarkable success in this role, having been an integral part of developing strong corporate relationships resulting in record sales purchases. Ortbach currently is assigned leadership role within the company, as, Vice President of Commercial Web Sales in an effort to refocus and extend our level of continued customer satisfaction.

Bio
Ron Sams is the Vice President of Corporate Accounts at manroland Inc.
Since 1994, Sams has served as Central Region Newspaper Sales Manager and subsequently Vice President of Newspaper sales for manroland, helping many of the Midwest's major dailies to upgrade from letterpresses to manroland web offset technology. His many accomplishments include: initiating manroland's largest newspaper press project in North America with Detroit Newspaper Partnerships, bringing the first Berliner format GEOMAN to North America, and helping forge manroland's ongoing partnership with Tribune Publishing, the nation's second-largest newspaper publisher in terms of revenue and third largest in circulation.
A graduate of the University of Iowa in Iowa City with a BBA in Marketing, Sams has served the graphic arts industry for over 23 years. From 1983 to 1994, he held sales and sales management positions in the mailroom/packaging equipment division of Harris Corporation, advancing within that company as it evolved into Harris Graphics and then AM Graphics.
Ultimately, Sams was appointed Eastern Regional Sales Manager for AM Graphics. Headquartered in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, he was responsible for running the company's Eastern U.S. sales organization.

Bio
Mugavero began his graphic communications career in 1971, working part-time for a commercial printer while attending college. Fifteen years later, he was president of the company, a post he filled for two and a half years. The printing executive moved on to accept a partnership in a trade shop. When that successful venture was bought out three years later, Mugavero joined his favorite press supplier — manroland — as a sales representative. By 1999, he was named the first regional General Manager of manroland Inc., responsible for the northeast and Canada.

Bio
Al Reijmer is the Vice President of Sheetfed Sales for the Central and Western regions. Al's new realm combines the former Central and Western regions
Reijmer spent the early years of his graphic arts career working for several printing companies in increasingly responsible posts. He then served at another press manufacturer for over 25 years, advancing from Sales Representative, to Regional Manager, to Regional Vice President and finally to Senior Vice President.
Before joining manroland, Reijmer was President of the TD Global Group, a major supplier of used printing equipment.

Bio
Jon Surch is Vice President of Service, Sheetfed Operations, for manroland Inc. He directs a support organization that covers the U.S and Canada and encompasses manroland's Rapid Response program as well as the installation of new equipment.
Surch joined manroland in September 1999 after serving as National Sales Manager for a manufacturer of small format presses. In that post, he oversaw sales and distribution of smaller format offset presses through both dealership and direct sales channels. His previous post at manroland was General Manager of the Southern Region, responsible for all sales and service activities there.
Surch got his start in the graphic arts as a pressman, while attending school. He moved into the service area to acquire hands-on technical experience, then went on to cut his teeth in sales and marketing. "My background gives me an extensive understanding of the entire print manufacturing process," he says. "I also have first-hand knowledge of the pitfalls facing printers today, which helps me see my customers' needs through their eyes."

Bio
Douglas Bradley is Vice President of Technical Service, Web Presses, directing a nationwide service force that keeps North America's largest publishers, commercial printers and newspapers printing around the clock.
Bradley comes from Kodak, where he was Global OEM Portfolio Manager since 2001. The position involved both strategic and tactical oversight of the third party services portfolio of products. Earlier he served at Kodak as Global Segment Director for Support Services.
With an educational background in electronics and business administration, Bradley began his career with Bell & Howell in 1978. He progressed through the ranks from Service Representative to Field Engineer, becoming the leading engineer on a commercial line of products.
In 1982 he was promoted to Area Technical Coordinator. Two years later, he became a Project Manager at Bell & Howell. And in 1987 moved up to become District Manager, Service.
The executive became National Accounts Manager in 1995 and Director, Service Marketing & Business Development in 1997. In the ensuing years, he was Project Manager, System Integration; Director, Product Management; and Director, Service Support Operations at Bell & Howell.

Bio
With over 25 years of industry experience, Marty started in the industry as a pressman in the Milwaukee area. For about 12 years, he ran presses, was promoted to manage the pressroom and ultimately served as in a plant manager role. He joined another press manufacturer as a press instructor continuing his work in the Midwest at production shops and advanced to become a demonstrator for trade shows. Marty then moved to a sales role for another press manufacturer where he continued to contribute to company growth. He became an entrepreneur when he became a partner in a printshop of his own as VP of Operations. Most recently, Marty served as The Director of Sheetfed PRINTVALUE for manroland in North America.

Bio
Jason Elliott brings over two decades of experience in printing and operations management into his current role of Executive Director, Print Technology/Press Performance at manroland North America. After earning his degree in New Zealand in Graphic Arts Sciences, he began his career in graphic arts, serving first as an apprentice printer.
In 1997, as Project Manager at one of Australia's leading printing houses, he improved the operational efficiency of the 24/7 manufacturing facility. Elliott was promoted to Production Manager, overseeing the daily operations of the largest printing facility in the Southern Hemisphere.
Later, as a consultant to management, Elliott applied his printing skills, project experience, and systems techniques to help Australian printers to reduce manufacturing costs and streamline operations as the industry struggled with commoditization of print.
He relocated to the United States in 2003 when he was selected for a position with the world's premier printing press manufacturer, manroland. As a Print Trainer, Elliott gained extensive insight to the unique needs of printers in North America. Since then, he has supported many print operations to develop their employees and consult to their operational success.
In his current role, Elliott is responsible for creating offerings that focus on maximizing the print and operational performance of printers in the United States and Canada. This includes development of manroland printcom portfolio which provides premium lithographic consumables to the printing industry. He is also responsible for managing and directing manroland’s training and consultation offerings.
